Hair transplant

Hair transplant is defined as the transfer of hair follicles from one part of the body (donor area) that usually has abundant hair growth to another part of the body (recipient area) that shows thinning or even complete hair loss.

Two techniques are used which offer the best results worldwide with minimal side effects: the FUE (follicular unit excision) and the FUT (follicular unit transplantation).

FUE usually involves the transfer of individual hair follicles with an automatic extractor (hair-to-hair method), commonly from the occipital area of the scalp (donor area) to the area of thinning using an implantation device. The advantages of this method are the excellent aesthetic results and the absence of scars.

FUT (strip method) involves the excision of a strip of skin from the recipient area (usually the occipital scalp area) and its microscopic separation of hair follicles into various hairs and their transfer to the recipient area. Finally, the donor area is sutured.

Both methods are performed in a fully equipped clinic under local anesthesia and without hospitalization.

The result of a hair transplant is mainly related to the rate of hair follicle recruitment. The specific percentage in our clinic exceeds 90%. Therefore, the result is guaranteed for life. What should be given special attention is the attempt to preserve the healthy hair that already existed prior to the procedure for a long lasting result.
